Used Car
Idris Goodwin

My literature consist of ligaments from different body parts
Franken stein stitched up / skin as the body art
Artifact making / mix facts with the unseen
4 finger one ring / my thumb for the posing
no gun ting / no one thing/
I’m multiple/ I multiply/ colorful / overground
No underground/ to run and hide
From the sunnyside/ the hills/ gated
Bills paid/ ordinance debated
From the gentrified/ terrified

I’m a regular ordinary
Fella that’s sorta heavy
Minded and delighted by
The methods of street prophets
Reminding the giants
They cant always beat hobbits

average everyday
say what I wanna say

take the trash to the curb
chop wood with an ax
read books on my porch
Not vibe or the source
Then I scream into the mic
My voice get horse
I drive a used car
Not a Porsche

participate in The beat poetical stereo
Ominous Sonic homages
That’s reaching the populous
Choppin Screwin Undoing deleting
Repeating competing defeating
Igniting / make the mundane exciting

I know devils, demons, angels
and the in between

No saint No priest damn sure aint No mister clean

aint a killer
I entertain like ben vereen
When I was a kid all I wanted was a submarine
Now I want to live aside a dub machine/
From the gut/ uncut/ is such a very lovely scene
cut the video screen
with the silly pre teen
with the grown man bling
sip ping bubbly things

I freestyle in the grocery store
pay attention to what most
never notice be fore

new myths new lore
old fist old law
same kane tape
88 R-A-W

I’m a regular ordinary
Fella that’s sorta heavy
Minded and delighted by
Ways of the radical
Be on the everyday
no paid sabbaticals

average nor mal
keep it informal

visit the middle school
keep a small social pool
listen to del on the train
Not 50 cent or game
guy with a microphone
Simple and plane
I drive a used ca r
a plane

College course
Softball/ loans til I’m 66
Pretty good at 16 inch
Rubber right arching pitch
Photo course and studied trance
Mysticism/ ancient dance
loan repay/ walk to work
Gone the cocky college smirk
Did 'shrooms lived in France
Came back in some purple pants
re write the plight of US life
until the maiden closes tight
Ahh Shit Late for work
Chair prepared for years there
Life controlled by college years
Career repay the debt and rears

Whats on today
And talk about the TV show
The schlubbery nowhere to go
Caged like a piping crow

Life was like a tidal flow
Now freedom found in red Bordeaux
Used to always fool around
Playful otter hunter hound

You make your bed
Cutting corners get ahead
Less than normal
Left instead
Slow like caterpillar tread
Goddamn college course
Learnin how to speak Norse

Mr. regular remorse
Telephone sales force

I’m a regular ordinary
Trapped in debt and shame
Fantasy
bright lights
Don’t sign your name

Hollywood
Hollywood
Hollywood hall of fame

Regular Ordinary
One day what if?

Regular Ordinary
Trapped in debt in shame
Fantasy
Bright lights

Hollywood
Hollywood

Regular Ordinary
Fantasy Fantasy

Trapped by Debt and News
Fantasy Fantasy

I’m a regular ordinary
Writer with many varied
Modes that explode all over the canvas
I be in your living room or college campus
More questions than answers my palette expansive
Walk the dogs up the block
Use a fan when its hot
One cube in the scotch

Never say what I’m not
Guy with the microphone
10 dollar watch
I drive a used car not a yacht.
